A retrospective of conceptual artist William Anastasi's work, from his earliest unsighted wall drawings to his recent work, including the Autobodyography and Abandoned Paintings series and his research on Alfred Jarry's influence on the work of Marcel Duchamp and James Joyce. Includes “Anastasi's Presence,” a comprehensive text by Artforum critic and curatorial consultant Eileen Neff, detailing Anastasi's artistic development. Also“Re-framing Time and Place: The Art of William Anastasi,” an analytical exploration of the ways in which Anastasi's work transforms common relationships between viewer and subject by John G. Hanhardt, curator of Film and Video at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
