Rodney Graham (b. 1949, Matsqui/Abbotsford, Canada; d. 2022, Vancouver) was a conceptual artist, actor, performer, historian, poet and musician who worked with systems of citation, reference, and adaptation. Graham slipped into different roles and characters to examine and to reveal certain structures of the complexities of Western culture. In 1997, Graham represented Canada at the 47th Venice Biennale, where he showed the film work "Vexation Island". Graham studied art history at the University of British Columbia and at the Simon Fraser University.
